We will be working closely with our first two Councils in South Australia to design the steps that could be taken to monitor compliance with the relevant energy efficiency provisions of the National Construction Code.
We are lucky to have Playford Council onboard (welcome Playford!) because they are managing significant development in the northern Adelaide area at the moment and they are also taking a close look at their internal planning systems at the moment, so it is an ideal time for us to be working with them.
We are intending to deliver an iterative design process. That means we will use the 'draft' protocol, get feedback from those involved and improve it for the next time. We will also be noting the changes that need to be made to adapt the protocol to each jurisdiction and to different Council systems.
Your involvement in this process is the key to making sure the final product is easy to use and provides Councils, building authorities and builders with a useful tool for improving the energy efficiency of our housing stock.
